Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist with over ten years of experience working with adolescents and adults in a variety of settings, including private practice, non-profit and school-based counseling. I work with individuals, both long and short-term on issues of anxiety, depression, overcoming pain from the past, and a general feeling of being “stuck.”

I also specialize in working with the LGBTQ community, and more specifically, gender nonconforming and transgender adolescents. I provide gender assessments, parenting consultations and individual therapy. I recognize that parents may be simultaneously going through a process of their own as their child’s gender expression changes.

Our Mission

My Style

My clients tell me that my approach is warm, supportive and honest. I practice primarily from a Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) framework, while integrating a mindfulness-based approach. I strategically work to identify the primary issue or issues and create a treatment plan in a timely fashion. My goal is to work with you with an end goal in mind, and regularly gauge our progress in meeting that goal. When I graduated from college in my early twenties, I took a corporate job which ended up becoming at 15 year career. What I enjoyed most about my career at that time were the relationships I built with my clients and helping them find solutions to their challenges, (which at that time were technology challenges.) Although it was rewarding, it was not my calling and that nagged at me until 2005, when I decided to take a leap of faith to pursue my passion – I wanted to become a therapist. Today, I take a similar approach to working with clients as I did in my former career. My approach is collaborative and listening to what my client is saying is essential.
